Session 2
Live, 90 minutes. Small breakout rooms. Not recorded.
Understanding a tool is not the same as using it. This 90-minute live workshop is where the ideas stop being ideas and become your own agreements: written down, said out loud, and scheduled for review.
After a short recap of the core concepts, so you are fully oriented even if you did not attend the webinar, you move into small breakout rooms of three or four people to do the real work. This is not a lecture you watch. It is practice you do, with the support of a small group and clear guidance at every step.
You will take a rule you have been running and rewrite it as an agreement, phrased as something you will do rather than something your partner cannot. You will find the need hiding underneath what you keep asking for, and discover more than one way to meet it, because when only one person doing one specific thing can satisfy you, you are a koala that only eats eucalyptus. You will draft a commitment you can actually say to another person: "What I can offer you is this. What do you want?" And you will rehearse the antidotes to the complaints that keep looping, the ones that sound like "we never talk" but really mean something much more specific and much more workable.
Before you leave, you will put a real agreement and a real review date on your calendar. Not someday. A date.
The rooms are small, private, and unrecorded on purpose, because this material is personal and you deserve a safe place to be honest. You choose your own depth. "Pass" is always available, there is no unsolicited advice, and what is said in the room stays in the room. You do not need a partner to attend. A current relationship, a past one, or the one you want next all work perfectly.
This workshop stands completely on its own. It is also Part 2 of a pair. The companion Webinar teaches the full framework this workshop puts into practice. Each one is worth your time alone. Together they take you from understanding the tools to using them with confidence.
You have the tools within reach. But do you want to use them?
What you will practice:
Turning one of your rules into an agreement
Finding the need under what you keep asking for, and more than one way to meet it
Drafting a commitment you can say out loud
Rehearsing the three antidotes to a spinning complaint
Setting a real agreement and a date to review it
What you will leave with: a rule rewritten, a need named, a commitment you can speak, and a review on your calendar.
Format: Live, 90 minutes. Small breakout rooms. Camera encouraged for the breakouts, though you always choose your depth. Not recorded. Handout provided.
A note before you join: This workshop is for relationships that are basically decent, where both people still have the power to do something different. It is not a resource for abusive or controlling relationships, and the exercises are not designed for that context. Being responsible is never the same as being guilty, and no one ever deserves to be mistreated.
